How to make timed subtitles from a script

Paste the exact words from your narration or video transcript. Choose a speaking pace close to the recording, then review the caption preview. The maker groups words into readable blocks, wraps them to your chosen line width, and assigns estimated start and end times. Download an SRT file for many editing workflows or VTT for web video players.

STEP 1

Paste the transcript

Use the spoken words in the same order as your recording. The tool supports up to 50,000 characters.

STEP 2

Set pace and line width

A faster pace creates shorter display times. Choose a caption width that stays readable on phones.

STEP 3

Preview and check

Compare the timestamps with your audio. Adjusting to the real recording improves sync.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool transcribe audio or video?+

No. Paste a script or transcript and the tool formats it into timed captions. It does not upload or transcribe audio or video.

Are my words uploaded to Next Labs?+

No. Caption timing and file creation happen in your browser. Your pasted text is not sent to a Next Labs server by this tool.

What is the difference between SRT and VTT?+

Both store timed captions as text. SRT is commonly used by video editors and platforms; WebVTT is a web caption format and begins with a WEBVTT header.
